Yes, you read NNMM right! It's non-non metallic, metallic! Haha. This was my first attempt at NMM. So I decided to bite off more than I could chew by trying to replicate the style that Kirill, Michal, Dmitry etc have developed where items are reflected in the metals. I know that the legionary's armor wouldn't be as reflective but this was an experiment to see if I could figure it out. Although I think I failed, I cannot help but see beauty in the impressionist-like nature of the reflected materials. So I decided to keep going. Anyway, in failure, I learned a whole heap that allowed me to quickly do NMM at the Dogma48 challenge last weekend. Next time I do NMM I might just keep it a little more simple than going straight for the tough stuff LOL.
It's a precise and detailled paintjob, but I don't really agree the final result that makes me think of tin dish and not a figure .... Sorry, this does not in any way call into question your level. The good thing is that you have ventured out of your comfort zone and it's respectable.
A pretty fine stab at something a little different! It's tricky to pull of even in 2D!…Looks like you did him as a 'German Auxilla'? ( I have this one in my 'to do' box) Nice to see this bust tackled in this way. Gold!

Thanks Clive. Yes you guessed right. I imagined him approaching the Germanic hoard coming out of the forest into the clearing ready to do battle.Herman aka Glitterwolf
