First model I finished in 2020.
Another great sculpt by the so talented Lucas Pina, who creates sculpts I always fall in love with.
Less war themed projects are really my thing in the meantime. Thank you, Lucas!
An absolute pleasure to paint.
Started this bust during one of my last hands on workshops about material properties in 2019 as a explanation piece for my students. Here you can see the grisaille sketch and the first color on it for the material. I really enjoy playing strongly with light and shadow, including this into atmosphere and working out material textures in it is really rewarding.
In private collection.
Hope you like it!
Keep on happy painting!

I love the textures ! And the back side is briilant (paradox !!). Congrats

Thanks, Laurent. Yes the back did find me in more painting joy than the front actually. I really wanted to create a not boring back situation of light and ambience but still with importance.

Got to agree with you, I loved painting this one as well

  • Kyle Maitland

Your style lends a weighty tone to this often bubblegum portrayed piece. I really dig it.

    • Roman LappatPLUS

Thanks a lot, Kyle. Really happy that my styles transports the cuteness of the models still!

  • Marco Ruano Miniature Painter

Me encanta Roman, para decir la verdad cuando la vi pensé que no era tuya, has cambiado todo tu rango de intensidad que te caracteriza, me encanta, es un gran oro .

Thank you, Marco. I think we all develop over time and change styles. This is what I always strive for, to learn more, to do something different than before and change and vary… I do not want to stop at one step of a ladder. Something I go up, sometimes I go down, sometimes I change the ladder :D

  • Jero Miniatures

One of the pieces I’ve enjoyed more painting. I like your approach at him.

I love the feel you reach on your projects. Everything is muted, toned and drawn to fit the vibe. To me that’s far more importent and way more difficult than eye catching techniques.

Thanks for so much inspiration Roman
