I love this guy, one of my fave movies from Studio Ghibli. I didn't want to be smooth but I wanted my brush strokes to be seen, as I feel it helps to tell the narrative even more. This figure has been in a my pile of shame for some time and after having bad month or so with mental health and a lack of motivation, it seemed like a straight forward project to start with. I felt the box was a nice too and didn't want to just throw it away once the bust was painted so I incorporated it into the actual piece.
