I fully enjoyed this Betta - once I got the hang of it. Very tricky project for many reasons.
I had a lot of trouble with the plants and ended up changing everything. The balance was also tricky. And just posing everything. But in the end I was very happy with it.

The model is the beautiful Betra Splendens by Peder Bartholdy. Released by Robot Rocket Miniatures. My second version as I also did the box art.

the idea for scene came from the collector who commissioned it. Thanks for the opportunity.

    Never seen something like this before, very beautifull and prototype. Realistic painting, gives the mysterius atmosphaire of the tiny lake, whitch is the habitat of bettas!

      Hi make! Thanks so much for this. I had a lot of doubt whether to make this obviously an aquarium or not. Until last night it had a foam thing with air hose for making bubbles, to underline it was an aquarium, but background was obviously a lake of some sort. It could be a vinyl background of an aquarium. Because in reality, the bettas don’t look like this in the wild. They have much smaller fins. Also, the rocks are made to resemble the pebbles in an anquarium. So it is the freedom I took - somewhere in between :)
