I started her long ago, but had to finish my PhD thesis, so she didn't get finished until I'd graduated, and relocated for a new job.

The color inspiration for this figure is of the European Goldfinch; a bird whose range includes Poland. Since Alkonost is a Polish legend, I wanted to paint her to be one of the birds of her native land. I love pretty much everything Ignis Art produces. They're fantastic figures. Perhaps there are parts I could have painted better. I could have spent more time on the feathers, probably. But she felt done, so that was that. I like the results and it is time to put her on the shelf.

My photography is slowly improving, but lighting still isn't quite where I'd like it. Skin tones and hair got a bit washed out.

As always, I welcome friendly constructive criticism and painting dialogue. If here to troll me (it happens too often), please get a life.

    I am surprised to read your comment or you only want constructive criticism. Surprising when you know that you limit yourself to most often putting bronzes without any justifying comment (thank you anyway for having raised your vote to silver on my last piece, it only makes a very small flat on the whole of your Gold received so far).
    To dialogue from painter to painter (amateur, I remind you that I am not a professional), what about your latest work? The painting is beautiful, neat, and I disregard the photos which very often crush the reality of the contrasts (small message in passing). I really like the treatment of the feathers, and the flesh could perhaps be a little more contrasting. Apart from that, I suggest you a path of progression on the preliminary preparation of the part. Indeed, this one seems rough in places, and a small preliminary passage with the steel wool 000 would avoid these small grains which alter the finesse of the whole.
    Hoping that my intervention will be taken on the right side.

      Fair assessment! And I messed up the deep feathers on the back - one is black when it should have been yellow. Whoops! ;)
