I have another somewhat political figure, but also optimistic. This one is inspired by Poland's kindness towards Ukrainian refugees. I envisioned an Earth where collectively, we are the kind and loving planet that helps those in need. I imagined the landing site as Ukraine (once they are safe), hence the sunflowers, but it is a group effort in helping our refugee alien girl, so the fence has multiple languages of welcoming. Languages: Ukrainian, Latin, English, Norwegian, Italian, and French. The marks on her arm are Quenya (Tolkein elvish) for 11 - I imagined WH40K space elves as Nazi-like assholes, and 11 from Stranger Things is another child who needed a safe home.
This alien child's former home is gone. She's experienced tragedy. But this new planet is kind, safe, and it is a place she will be able to call home.
The figure is Seeking Refuge by RobotRocket Miniatures, and the butterfly and backdrop are by HonourGuard.

    Hello Rhiana,

I think that every person can change a lot for the better through a positive change
in their nature and attitude . The more were, the greater the healing . This is an important message you are sending here in your project .

Thank you for this Rhiana : kind regards Holger :::::Gold

    • Rhiana, "Cyradis"

Thanks for your kind words! It was a somewhat sad project to do, but also a strangely optimistic one. It would be wonderful if Earth was a benevolent planet!

      For Rhiana,

I think it should be the goal of every human being . To strive for a more conscious and responsible to getherness and that in its entirety . Then we could live in peace without worrying about our planet .

I wish you Rhiana continued success and happiness . Greets Holger

Thanks! It was my first time doing this type of backdrop + bust + foreground, and I like how it went :)

  • Eamon Connerty

Great piece! I love the backdrop and ground work. Busts don’t always look good with backdrops in my opinion, but you’ve pulled it off nicely!

    • Rhiana, "Cyradis"

Thanks! I tend to agree with you - busts and backdrops can be awkward. This one just seemed to need it to tell a little story. Glad it worked out! :)

    • Rhiana, "Cyradis"

I covered this on my other pieces.
I give commentary and critique when it is asked for. It is rude to critique work if it is not asked for.
This is a public gallery, and a bronze is not a mark of shame. It is a general “thumbs up”. I do regularly give silvers and golds - on pieces that warrant it.
I also do not view myself as exceptional. Again, see my other pieces and commentary. I don’t tend to paint gold pieces. I am very away of that. Expecting gold on everything is incredibly narcissistic and foolish.
Good job announcing your insecurity and immaturity to everyone. I’ll stick with going by the rules of this website instead. Paint something worth a silver or gold and that’s what I’ll vote, because I’m not going to be a spiteful child.
