RM1602, US Rangers, Point Du Hoc, vignette from Reedees Miniatures in 1/16th scale. These resin figures and base were created and sculpted by Steve Reedees. This set can be found at: https://sites.google.com/site/reedeesminiatures/figuresaccessories/116-120mm

All three resin figures were painted in oils over an acrylic base. The sculpting is superb in detail and required minimal clean-up. This set was another, among many from Reedee’s Miniatures, that was just a lot of fun to paint.

Cheers, Ski.

It looks awesome. I like the story and the dynamics of the figures. you captured the moment really well. And I also like how you composed the wall with the plinth making it much taller and creating the illusion of height. Awesome job!

Thank you, Stepan.  It’s always good, imho, to use a complimenting base, but not one that distracts from the subject.  Any altitude I could get, within reason, was my thinking.  I appreicate the compliments.

A really dynamic historical scene! I was just browsing your gallery and you do some great historical dioramas with very accurate historical precision. Lovely. If you are searching for a challenge: the first thought I had for this diorama of yours was “Oh wow! I would love to see that in a moonlight night scene!” ... This would give the advance and attack an even more impactful moment, but of course it is difficult to carry the historical precision of colors into a night scene! Nonetheless, really nice work! Keep on happy painting!

Thank you Roman, you are very kind.  You brought up a really great challenge to a set like this.  Painting light scenes is not an area I have ventured into yet, but it’s tempting.  I have no traditional training in painting or color theory, so that would most certainly stretch my abilites.  I always appreicate those that can get incredible results, it’s inspiring, to say the least.
