'Brokk, the Dragonhunter'
2024
Black Crow Miniatures, 75mm

It was a joy to paint this great dwarf figure. I decided for the helmet version instead of the very common head that was also used on the boxart. I also did some conversion and added "Dragon Skin" made from dried Lychee skin (fruit) with an added small dragon head attached. I will have a video on Youtube about this soon. Really, really enjoyed painting my version of this dude.

You can find a lot of Work in Progress insight and explanation via my Patreon.

Attached you can see photos on grey background, plus size comparision to a bottle of paint, plus a photo in the cabinet beside other figures to provide a true sense of how the miniature looks.

In Verko's Vault collection.

Keep on happy painting!

Where did he get the helmet?....
    • Roman LappatPLUS

Now this can have different answers: 1. Black Crow Miniatures sells him with two head options (one helmet, one without) 2. He did get the helmet at his local blacksmith in the Grumnir Mountain Fortress. They are long time friends and he asked for a good helmet while hunting dragons. His friend, the Blacksmith - his name is Grokka - took some special weeks of from his regular work to be on time with this new and shiny helmet for his friend, Brokk that he presented him on his birthday. Brokk, now sees it as his duty to bring home some great dragon skin for his friend.

You really transformed this figure in my eyes. The original figure imho was sculpted well but felt kind of one dimensional. So I'm thrilled to see it take on a different personality with your work.
    • Roman LappatPLUS

I am so happy to hear that, Chris. Yes, I feel it too. It is a completly different character now, which was my goal. Thank you! I have seen you are up to some conversion and unique characters too. Can't wait for this!

Brilliant work, Roman, making this - in my eyes - rather generic representation "dwarvenness" into something unique and special. Love the idea with the dragonskin, it fits story-wise and blends into the whole sculpt very naturally. What really stands out, as always, is your attention to naturalistic details - esp. in skin variation! Well done, my friend! Hugs from up-North!
