I intended to capture a brief moment where the despair of facing enemies on all sides breaks through Tyrion’s typical sarcastic and jovial demeanor. The cold moonlight is meant to give a lonely feeling and the warm light from the fireplace provides the context that he is perhaps outside his chambers in King’s Landing. This bust is dedicated Alfonso Giraldes since I applied so much of his color theory and illustrative painting approach in this piece. My favorite part of this project was mixing the blues, lilacs, and violets for the skin.
