I finally actually finished a project! After bouncing around lacking focus for the early part of the year, I decided to take this little bust with me on a family vacation to work on during my down time. I painted it in short intermittent sessions over that week, and recently finished him up after another three sessions after I got home. This is such a fantastic sculpt with so much character that I could spend many many many more hours refining it and adding detail, but that wasn't the purpose of the project. I needed to release some stress that had been holding me back, so this was a very low key low stress project for me and I'm pretty happy with how he turned out. As usual, plenty of the textures here are freehand (namely the pebbly texture on the red armor) that I've blended in the paintwork to areas of the sculpt so its more or less seamless.

I have to say a massive thank you to Alfonso Giraldes for his feedback in the later stages of this. What I had done over my vacation was decent, but his advice was invaluable in finishing this little guy up and helping me learn how to better focus the subject.
